Glenn Gould

An absolutely unbelievable thing: on the Variation 24. Canon on the octave, from 1981 Goldberg Variations performed by Glenn Gould, one can distinctly hear human voice just on the edge of audibility. Glenn Gould is singing his Bach.

Невероятно, но факт: в Вариации 24, канон в октаве, в исполнении Глена Гоулда 1981-го года, можно, на пороге слышимости различить слабый человеческий голос. Гоулд подпевает.

  1. Listen to his 1955 recording of the Goldberg Variations and you can hear him hum/mumble along to all the pieces :-)

He is well known to have hummed along to everything he played, the sound engineers would then work for weeks to try to filter it out.

  2. Indeed, in 1981 version his voice can be heard many times, but it seems '55 recording I have was edited.
